Built by hand. Tested by the wild.
The West isn’t just a place—it’s a way of life. Raw, unforgiving, and unapologetically free. This is the land that shaped RIDGEHAT.
Our story starts in 1987, high in the Colorado Rockies, where the wind never sleeps and the weather shifts by the minute. Founder Jake Cole spent his days riding fence lines, herding cattle, and hiking ridges where ordinary hats didn’t stand a chance. They blew away, lost shape, or fell apart when you needed them most.
So Jake built something better.
In his small workshop, with tools handed down from his father, he reimagined what a mountain hat could be: a reinforced brim to cut wind and glare, a structured crown that holds its shape, and heavy-duty wool felt that repels rain, sun, and dust. He called it Ridge—after the peaks that tested it, and the spirit that inspired it.
RIDGEHAT was born not as a fashion piece, but as a tool for the wild. For the rancher, the hiker, the fisherman, the explorer who lives where the pavement ends.
This isn’t just our history. It’s our promise:
Every hat we make is built to earn its place on your head—and in your story.
